Quinta Do Barradas Wines
Brief history and location of the farm
With a huge passion for wine art, Luís Pequeno decided to plant in 2006 a vineyard with the varieties Touriga-Nacional, Syrah and Aragonez. Four years later, the first harvest takes place, showing great quality right from the start. Quinta do Barradas is located in the prime area of the Algarve region for the production of excellent wines.
It is found in the south of Silves, the soil is sandy loam, with some limestone and is at a level of roughly 68m with a predominance of northern winds that are favorable to fresher wines. All the work in the vineyard is manual – with grape weeding in the order of 40 percent to obtain the best possible wines – and always subordinated to the old maxim that wine is made in the vineyard. White, rosé and red wines are produced. His first wine, “Selecção Tinto”, was launched in September 2013.
